Mr. Kaves Shares a Mark Mahoney Portrait
A couple weeks back, I ran into Michael Kaves on 3rd Avenue, a couple blocks away from his shop, Brooklyn Made Tattoo. Kaves is also one of the founding members of The Lordz of Brooklyn. I know Kaves from around the neighborhood, and although I've never been tattooed by him, I have been under the needle in his shop and have had the pleasure of seeing him work first-hand and close-up on other

Repost for Memorial Dsy: A Traditional Naval Tattoo on a 21st Century Ship
This post originally appeared on November 7, 2009. I felt it was appropriate to re-post on Memorial Day, 2011: The USS New York was put into service today by the United States Navy. Her hull was forged with steel salvaged from the rubble of the World Trade Center. It's a momentous occasion indeed, and several crew members were in attendance with dignitaries earlier this week at the World Series. As
Life is War
Back in April, I met Joshua outside of Penn Station, and he shared this, one of his five tattoos:This forearm tattoo, exemplifies Joshua's philosophy that life is war: "you have to go through war to get where you're going."An ex-girlfriend drew it up for him and then he had it tattooed by Jamie at Bullseye Tattoo Shop in Staten Island, New York. Thanks to Joshua for sharing this tattoo with us

Chad and the City
I met Chad one afternoon in April outside of Madison Square Garden. He shared this tattoo which is on his left shin:As one might have guessed, Chad is a huge fan of the former HBO series Sex and the City and this is one of a large number of tattoos that he has. When I asked how many he had, he quipped “I have no clue.”Chad’s work was inked by Eileen Fabbricatore at Lady Luck Tattoo in Aurora,

Stephen's Killer Klown
One of the significant changes in the chronology of Tattoosday was the discovery that the Amtrak waiting area in Penn Station was a wonderful place for inkspotting, not just on rainy days, but whenever I had the chance to pass that way.Stopping someone on the streets of New York City, especially when they are in a hurry to get somewhere, can be challenging. I have discovered that people waiting

Eva Longoria Hot Pictures
The exact moment Eva Longoria became the country's water-cooler topic can be easily pinpointed: It happened when her Desperate Housewives character, Gabrielle Solis, seduced her teen gardener in the first season.
Soon after, Longoria appeared on the cover of nearly every women's and men's magazine, which blew her up – literally! – with a cover of Maxim that one could reportedly see from outer space. But it was the actress's fairy tale wedding to NBA player Tony Parker in 2007 that really grabbed headlines, with the pair tying the knot twice in Parker's native France.
Three years after their lavish nuptials, the Desperate Housewife filed for divorce from the San Antonio Spur in November 2010.

They show will be on as long as the ratings are up. Maybe Sheen gets killed off when he crashes his car next season and then their long lost brother enters.
Now that I think about it, there's only one way this might work: if the producers can get Emilio Estevez. :D

What about those of us that bought MBP's in August? The upgrades weren't in the forcast! Ugh, I really hate it when this happens!
Those who bought their Computer in August should be happy with what they got since that was what was the best available at the time. And what are you talking about not in the forecast? The previous revision was here for just over 6 months. From April 2006 to October 2006. How long do you want Apple to go with out updates?

Because the hardware is in the CDMA phone on Verizon. The AT&T iphone 4 doesn't have the same chip. If the iphone 5 does, it's still up to apple and at&t to enable it.
Ah cool, didn't know that, thanks!

Seems like everyone forgot about the somewhat recent rumors about a smaller iphone. (Ok, just kidding.)
Maybe apple wants the rumor mill to get up to speed as they want to introduce anything but nobody got a hint or has a clue yet. Total disclosure is bad, but no rumors is even worse.

i like the new Preview look :)
I don't. Well, if they would make most other apps follow the same look (pioneered by Mail.app) then I wouldn't mind it too much. The number of distinct interface styles is getting to be absurd. Thank goodness for UNO (http://gui.interacto.net/index.php?option=com_frontpage&Itemid=1).

Theoretically, if all that 2 TB's of music was purchased from iTunes, then the files all already exist in the iTunes servers and it would cost them no additional storage space to stream them back to you. So it may well be possible.
I guess we'll just have to wait and see what the official announcements are. I reserve any judgment until then.
chances are if someone has 2TB of music alone.....there is a problem there.

Yes. I really wouldn't care if iPhone hardware upgrades came every 2 years. Just keep those iOS updates coming! That's the more important part now.
Millions wouldn't agree with you but I do.
We are getting to a point where acceleration in software developments is going to take over acceleration in hardware development/production, if any.
Just as it turns out for the rest of Si-manu./PC/Tech industry, hardware has more or less reached a settling point. It's going to grow but not at a pace we have had until now. Software is more important; has always been imo.

exactly, i'm sure the mini store has its uses but i mean compared to the others... i'm sure the itunes recommendations thingo is great for some people, but if you could stream music that is similar to your tastes / the current song ala pandora.com that would be 'saweet' :D

I'm not sure why we even need an iPhone 5.
The iPhone 4 is a great form factor. It does the job. At most what it needs is a spec jump (64GB, and maybe clock the CPU faster) and that should hold people over for another year.
I mean, before we had:
iPhone
iPhone 3G
iPhone 3Gs (pretty much the same form factor but faster CPU)
iPhone 4
I suspect we may get an iPhone 4 plus or something like that.
Also, do you people really need a new phone every year? I had my Treo 650 for nearly four years. The only reason I only kept my Palm Pre for less than a year was that it started having hardware problems.

Apple inc. Idea of technology is simple if product A is X weight and Y thin. Any upgrade to product A that will and can result in the weight being greater then X then the upgrade is not a worthwhile addition to the phone.
I like apple but they are to damn cautious of a company. Google is know for its innovations, but more ever it does things that most people would not think of many of these Ideas fail others become standard. Apple needs to be more on the front lines and take risk. Nothing wrong with a few bad products.
Is it a bad thing that apple doesn't want to increase the size of the iPhone? There are people who want/accept huge phones but the fact remains that the motorola razr is historically one of the most successful phones and people criticized the iPhone on its realease for it's size.
The majority of the market wants smaller phones. Apple should go after that
Also. Re: innovation. Ever hear of. Um. The iPhone? Or the iPad?
Google isn't known for innovations they're known as a search company that's expanding their reach. Google has never "innovated" with a larger phone. They just make a very good OS...but your comparison is false

If you want functionality, then go use Windows. Most Mac users are designers and the look of something is just as important as functionality. Steve Jobs may love the look of his day planner, that doesn't mean I have to be stuck with it.
You and the person you quoted imply that UI is not a part of the functionality.
Am I right?

Celebrities Tattoos
Tattoos have become so famous and so accepted in our society that it is even common to see celebrities and movie stars wearing them. Then fans emulate these stars with celebrity tattoos and get themselves inked too. It is a cycle of recognition, popularity, and acceptance.
The effect of this is thattattoos with long held negative connotations are becoming widely used as harmless fashion symbols. Although this is a welcome trend, it would still be prudent to know about the symbolism of a tattoo before choosing one for yourself.
It is not as easy to choose a tattoo as some people might think. In order to get ideas, a technique would be to peruse the celebrity tattoos chosen byactors, actresses , and singers of popular culture. Famous persons who have at one time or another gotten a tattoo comprise a long list. Some of the names in this list include Alicia Keys, Angelina Jolie, Anna Nicole Smith, Avril Lavigne , Ben Affleck , Beyonce, Bjork, Britney Spears, Charlize Theron, Cher, Christina Aguilera , Courtney Love, David Beckham, Drew Barrymore, Eminem, Gwen Stefani, Halle Berry, Heath Ledger, Kate Moss, Vin Diesel, and Winona Ryder.
By looking at the tattoos that other more famous people have chosen, you might be able to choose the best one for yourself. This way, it will be easy to visualize, as the design is already tattooed on someone else’s skin. Of course, other things have to be considered as well. For instance, here are a few thoughts on the art of tattooing.

Ten Steps to the Perfect Tattoo Design
You may find design inspiration in many places, but you won’t always find Tattoo Friendly™ artwork. Magazines, books, Internet searches and all other forms of media are full of images, but you should ultimately rely on artwork that is intended to be tattooed and is created by flash artists and tattooists who understand the limitations of a tattoo machine.
- Know your tattoo design resources … and their limitations.
- Be realistic about your tattoo design vision. Skin is a living canvas, so there is a natural limit to what will work and what will not work as a tattoo.
- Make sure your tattoo design reflects your desire for ink.
- If you want to create a “bad girl” look, chances are a cute butterfly tattoo won’t get the response you're looking for.
- Determine what your tattoo means to you now, later and forever. Think about the meaning your tattoo will have and how it will apply to you in the future. While some people want their tattoo to always represent them, others will get tattooed to commemorate a period or event in their lives (like a mile marker).
- Identify your style. Identify different styles of artwork you’re naturally drawn to.
- Keep in mind the importance of finding a Tattoo Friendly™ design that includes an accompanying stencil. If possible, select a design that is “stencil ready.” Tattoo design stencils are blueprints of your tattoo that don’t include color or shading, but give subtle direction to the tattooist in how to create the design on your skin.
- New Tattoo Design
- Be aware of multiple interpretations of your design choice. Most people select a tattoo design based on what the design symbolizes to them. You might decide to commemorate your summer in Spain with a fantastic tattoo design of a black bull.
- Location, location, location! Where you decide to put your tattoo will determine how visible it is to everyone else. How easily do you want to be able to show off or hide your artwork? The location will also affect your tattoo design options and what can feasibly fit there. A complicated and highly detailed design simply can’t be squeezed onto your ankle and is probably better suited for a larger space.best place for tattooJapanese Tattoos Design: Tribal Tattoo Design - Best Tribal Tattoo Design
- Consider your tattoo future . . . After you get your first tattoo, beware . . . you may very well want to get more. If you’re prone to “ink addiction” and think this tattoo may lead to another, think about how the tattoo design you’re considering now will fit into your larger “tattoo future” in terms of style, theme, balance of color and size.
- Take responsibility. Take time. You’re going to have this tattoo forever, so take all the time you need to find something you love. While the final choice is ultimately your responsibility (and your prerogative), it may not hurt to get opinions fr
